More Than Adaptable

new-york-city-cityscapes-1200x1920 edit

This post is about change.
I need to borrow some.
Just kidding. I’ve got change, its the big bucks that I lack.
(Don’t tell me you didn’t expect a bad ‘change’ joke)

Seriously though, this post is about my musings on change, that is, transformation.

Change is what drives us all.

It is known that we all change, as in, adapt to live. I, however, am of the mind that change is what we live for as well. Continue reading

I’m Back!

Arnold-Schwarzeneggerback

Its been a long time since I’ve blogged.
For months, I have been away, but not anymore.

I was going through a lot of psychological torture in the past few months. (I like to call it ‘mind rape’)
Don’t worry though, I won’t bore you with my sorrowful tale. I’ve bored the shit out of my close friends for that already.

I have moved past all of that crap now, and have pondered over a truckload of things, giving me tons of stuff to write about.

So, expect more posts from me in the recent future.

Time to get a fresh perspective on things.
Stay tuned!

Signing out,

Festivities

Its been a long time since I last blogged.

Life has been a little hectic and jerky as of late, that’s probably why I didn’t blog for so much time.

Anyway, I’ve got something to say, so here I am, blogging once again.

I’m an Indian, and as a citizen of this culturally diverse country, I get the opportunity to watch about ten different festivals of different people being celebrated in unison by one and all.

This sight is so common, in fact, that I failed to notice how spectacular a sight it actually is until I learned of the discrimination that is prevalent in the world. The civic sense that I’ve developed recently, along with my peers, has allowed me to see clearly the magic of festivities in India.

Mutants: Awesome or Stupid?

This post is about a very popular comic series, which was later adapted to films, The X-Men.
I am personally a big fan of X-Men and have always reserved a special spot for them in my mind, where reality and fantasy nearly merge. (Heavy stuff, huh?)

For years now, I have been a devout fan of the film series. (The comics aren’t really available in India, so I didn’t have the good fortune to delve into that universe)

One day, I was watching X-Men First Class again (For the third time), because I had nothing to do and I’m a creepy and geeky loner without a life.
Just kidding. I’m not creepy.

Anyway, after watching it, something struck me. What is it that attracts me to this franchise so much? I mean, sure, I’d love to see almost any superhero movie, but there was always something special about the X-Men.

After some pondering on that topic, I reached a conclusion. Continue reading

Contrast

What is the importance of darkness?
None, you might say. (Or you may quote some cheesy tagline from some cheap biblical flick)
I beg to differ. Continue reading

Killing The Novelty

This one is a reaction to the recent movies.

The individuality of the so called superhero genre has been severely compromised. The movies of late claim to be a science fiction thriller (or something similar),  while ripping off the trademark characteristics of superhero movies. Continue reading

The Good and The Bad

This one is a conclusion drawn from a lot of observations.

I believe that no person is bad, or rather evil in actuality, it is only the means which they use to fulfil their goals that distinguishes them from the so called ‘good’ people. For instance, an office worker earns money by doing insanely monotonous paper work while a member of any crime syndicate kills people to earn the same buck, the goal being the same, the means to achieve it defines a person in our society. Although there are many alternative examples, the gist of it will still result to be the same, provided you can look at an act of killing like any other job (you’re a part of society too, you know).

It is this very perspective with which the society has come to see the people that has influenced the actions and the how they are treated. Continue reading

Just a Tune?

Okay, lets talk about songs.

Which of the many popular songs do you remember from last year?
Not too many right?
Now think about the songs you do remember, and see what comes to mind.
It has to be a memory of something or even someone. Continue reading

The ‘Intrigue’ Element

Lets talk about the rising trend of story writing in Hollywood.

Have you ever noticed that the most popular movies or TV shows are the ones which have excessively mysterious plots? For instance, some TV shows like LOST, FRINGE, etc (Yes, I am a J.J. Abrams fan) and of course, Inception and also a lesser known film Cloverfield(See? I am a fan).
Why are they so immensely successful? Continue reading
